Break Manager
Organize card breaks, assign spots, track payments, and record results all in one place.
Creating a Break Event
To create a new break, navigate to Break Manager and click Create Break. Fill in the break details:
- Break Name - A descriptive name (e.g., "2024 Prizm Football Random Teams").
- Product - What's being broken (e.g., "2024 Panini Prizm Football Hobby Box").
- Break Type - Random teams, pick your team, hit draft, personal break, etc.
- Date/Time - When the break is scheduled to go live.
- Price Per Spot - The cost of each spot.
- Platform - Where you're hosting it (YouTube, Facebook Live, Whatnot, etc.).
Setting Up Spots
After creating a break, set up the spots:
- Click Manage Spots on the break detail page.
- Set the number of spots available.
- For team breaks, assign team names to each spot (e.g., spot 1 = Kansas City Chiefs).
- For random team breaks, you can randomize team assignments after all spots are filled.
The number of spots typically matches the number of teams in the sport (32 for NFL, 30 for NBA/MLB/NHL), but you can set any number for custom break formats.
Assigning Customers to Spots
As customers purchase spots, assign them:
- Click on an empty spot.
- Search for the customer by name or create a new customer on the fly.
- Select the customer to assign them to that spot.
- A single customer can purchase multiple spots in the same break.
Tracking Payments Per Spot
Each spot tracks its payment status independently:
- Unpaid - Spot is claimed but payment hasn't been received.
- Paid - Payment confirmed.
- Refunded - Payment was returned (customer dropped out).
You can mark spots as paid individually or in bulk. The break overview shows a quick summary of paid vs. unpaid spots.
Use the bulk payment feature when you receive payments from a platform like Whatnot or eBay where you get a batch notification.
Recording Results / Hits
After the break is complete, record what each spot received:
- Click Record Results on the break.
- For each spot, enter the notable hits and cards pulled for that team/customer.
- You can add card descriptions, values, and notes.
- Save the results. Customers will see their hits in their profile if they have an account.
Viewing Upcoming, Active, and Past Breaks
The Break Manager dashboard organizes your breaks into three views:
- Upcoming - Breaks that are scheduled but haven't started yet. Shows spot fill percentage.
- Active - Breaks currently in progress (being opened live).
- Completed - Past breaks with full results recorded.
Use the search and filters to find specific breaks by name, date, product, or customer.
