Consignments

Manage consigned items, track sales, calculate payouts, and keep consignors happy.

What Consignment Tracking Covers

The consignment system lets you track cards that other people have given you to sell on their behalf. You handle the selling, they get paid when the card sells (minus your commission). This section helps you:

Adding a Consignment

  1. Go to Consignments and click Add Consignment.
  2. Select or create the consignor (the person giving you the card to sell).
  3. Add the item details:
    • Card Description - What the card is (player, year, set, etc.).
    • Condition / Grade - Raw or graded with cert number.
    • List Price - The agreed asking price.
    • Minimum Price - The lowest price you can accept without checking with the consignor.
    • Commission Rate - Your percentage or flat fee (e.g., 15%, 20%, or $10 flat).
  4. Click Save.

Consignment Statuses

Each consigned item moves through these stages:

Note

When a consigned item sells through the POS, the system automatically updates its status to "Sold" and calculates the consignor's payout.

Setting Pricing Terms

Agreed List Price

This is the price you and the consignor agree to list the card at. It's the target sale price you'll aim for.

Minimum Acceptable Price

The floor price you can accept without needing to contact the consignor for approval. If a buyer offers below this amount, you'll need to check with the consignor before accepting.

Tip

Set clear minimum prices upfront so you can make quick decisions at card shows without needing to call or text the consignor for every offer.

Recording Sales and Calculating Payouts

When a consigned item sells:

  1. The system records the actual sale price.
  2. Your commission is calculated automatically based on the agreed rate.
  3. The consignor's payout amount is displayed (sale price minus your commission).
  4. You can see a clear breakdown: sale price > commission > payout.

Example

Card sells for $100, commission rate is 20%:

Tracking Payout Dates

Once you pay a consignor, record it:

  1. Open the sold consignment and click Mark Paid.
  2. Enter the payment date and method (cash, check, Venmo, PayPal, etc.).
  3. The status moves to "Paid" and the transaction is complete.

You can view all unpaid consignment sales to see exactly how much you owe and to whom.

Contract Management

For each consignor relationship, you can store the terms of your agreement:

Tip

Keep consignment terms documented here even if you have a handshake agreement. It prevents misunderstandings and makes payouts transparent for everyone.
